Josie White is a recent Geology graduate from Keele University and the University of Manchester, where she has just completed a Master of Science in Petroleum Geoscience. During her time studying at University she also gained 7+ years technical and personal experience in the retail sector working at Boot Opticians, 111 Health Advisor and at Specsavers which brings invaluable real-world experience of working to deadlines and project management. Jonno Davey has been studying Medical Science at Exeter University during which he was exposed to a lot of laboratory time and in particular practices consistent with working meticulously with large sample sets. He has experience with good laboratory practise, the need for precision with sample handling and preparation as the foundation for logical defendable outcomes. It is with pleasure that our latest paper has been published, co-authored with Rob Bowell (SRK Consulting), Andrew Barnes (Geochemic) and Arman Vardanyan (Hrazdan) in Minerals relating to the geometallurgy of trace elements in the Hrazdan Iron Ore Deposit. This is a great case study on how arsenic present in arsenical rims on pyrite can provide an ARDML risk, even when the overall levels in the waste rock are unremarkable. The full abstract is below. Abstract This study presents an evaluation of arsenic and other trace metals in the Hrazdan Iron-Ore project in Armenia using a methodology typically associated with Geometallurgical characterization. The principal host of the trace elements is pyrite and oxidized equivalents. Pyrite is a mineral of elemental concern as it has the potential to generate acidic pH in water that it contacts and thus mobilize metals of concern. Since then he has completed seven years experience, most recently working as a Senior geomaterials scientist at RSK Consulting. He brings experience of petrographic and materials investigations of various natural and manmade materials to British, European and American standards. He has experience in project management and reporting of materials consultancy and structural and materials investigation projects. He has more than seven years experience working within a UKAS accredited, ISO 9001; 14001; 45001 compliant construction materials testing laboratory and consultancy. Bradley has also filled the role of deputy quality manager has extensive experience providing technical support to materials expert witnesses.
