Conference Round-Up

Petrolab attended the recently hosted Sustainable Minerals 2016 conference at St Michael’s Hotel, Falmouth in Cornwall. Previously known as Sustainability, Resource Conservation and Recycling (SRCR), this conference brings together speakers from a wide variety of backgrounds looking at topics from mine waste characterisation, to efficient resource utilization through to electronic waste recycling. As ever Barry Wills has written an excellent and thorough summary of the conference which can be read below. Our abstract for that conference can be found here.

Following this successful conference Petrolab is currently gearing up for the RMS Automated Microscopy 2016, which has been convened by Petrolab’s director James Strongman and features a cross-disciplinary look at the various ways in which automated mineralogy is used across the industry. The speakers are all experts in their fields and as such this conference represents a great opportunity to see how different fields apply this technology to solve their particular problems.

Please see here for more details of the Automated Microscopy conference. Tickets are still available and if you are interested please could you econtact Kate Wooding kate@rms.org.uk the RMS event organiser.
