Petrolab supporting research

We are very pleased to report that Petrolab is providing support to an MSc research project in applied mineralogy at Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter.  Jake Harrison (pictured with Petrolab Principal Mineralogist, James Strongman) is the student undertaking the research which will look into modelling the gravity response of particles on a shaking table.

Material for the project has been supplied from the new Drakeland’s Tungsten & Tin Mine near Plymouth operated by Wolf Minerals and this will be analysed using Petrolab’s new ZEISS automated mineralogy system – Mineralogic – to characterise the gravity profile and morphological characteristics of the particles.
